Democrats go to Caucus

On Saturday, March 5, 2022, across Larimer County school cafeterias, Democrats met to caucus. Caucus is a process by which delegates are chosen to attend the upcoming 2022 county assembly and become Precinct Committee Person for two years. The county assembly is convened to designate county candidates for the primary election and to select delegates to the congressional district assemblies and the state assembly.

The district assembly is then convened to designate district level delegates to the national convention. The delegates also nominate candidates for Congress, the Colorado General Assembly, the State Board of Education, the Board of Regents, and District Attorneys.

The purpose of the state assembly is to nominate candidates for statewide offices to the primary election ballot. During the assembly, delegates will also be elected to the national convention.

Boulder County held caucuses online. Way to go! What a Herculean effort by so many folks. Janice shared a video that can be found here.

Larimer County held caucuses in-person. Janice attended her caucus at Conrad Ball Middle School and then went to Walt Clark Middle School to meet with other precints. She was given a chance to speak for 60 seconds at each place.

I am running to bring real representation to working and retired families in our Senate District. The maps were redrawn and SD15 is the most competitive senate race in the state. I need your support to win in November. -- Janice Marchman, March 5, 2022
